The Evanshow is a smart door knob — not a deadbolt — that replaces a standard interior doorknob with a biometric one. It unlocks four ways: fingerprint, keypad passcode, smartphone app (via Tuya), or two backup mechanical keys.
The fingerprint sensor stores up to 100 prints. The keypad takes up to 50 passcodes, which is handy if you want different codes for family members, guests, or cleaners. It runs on internal batteries (rechargeable via USB) with a claimed 6-month battery life on normal use. There’s also a USB port for emergency power if the batteries do die — though that port is for emergency unlocking only, not recharging.
What you don’t get at this price: it’s not a Wi-Fi smart lock. It connects via Bluetooth through the Tuya Smart app, which means remote access works but with some lag compared to true Wi-Fi locks like Yale or August. For most use cases, that’s fine.

Initial admin setup is critical. Until you register an administrator fingerprint, ANY fingerprint can unlock the door. Don’t skip this step — it’s in the manual but easy to miss in the excitement of getting it working.
Battery anxiety. While Evanshow says 6 months, heavy daily use will get you closer to 3-4 months. The good news: it gives you low-battery warnings well in advance, and a USB power bank can unlock it in a pinch.
